Local flooring contractors, straight answers
Flooring installers who check the subfloor and the moisture before the first plank, and price the whole job including the tear-out.
About Nashville's Flooring
Nashville's Flooring is a flooring company serving Nashville and 64 more towns across 12 counties of Middle Tennessee — and we stake our name on how the work goes.
Floors fail from underneath — a wet slab, a soft subfloor, a crawl space breathing moisture through the boards — and the installers who skip the check are the ones back in a year to explain the cupping. Our crews test first and write the whole scope down.
What we do
- Test the subfloor and the moisture. A moisture reading on a slab and a walk on a wood subfloor before anything is ordered.
- Acclimate the material. Hardwood and plank sit in the house for the days the manufacturer requires; skipping it voids the warranty and gaps the floor.
- Price the tear-out and the transitions. Old floor out, subfloor repairs by the sheet, thresholds and reducers — all in the number, not discovered on day one.
What we will not do
- Lay hardwood on a damp slab. It cups and it does not come back; the reading decides the product, not the other way round.
- Float a floor over a soft subfloor. Plank hides the problem for a season and then telegraphs every bounce.
- Guess the square footage. It is measured, with waste calculated for the layout, and the material is ordered from that.
What we actually work on
What flooring companies in Nashville install, refinish and repair, and what each job covers.
The flooring problems Middle Tennessee homeowners bring us most often:
- Floors are scratched or dull
- Carpet needs to go
- Water damage in a room
- Uneven or squeaky floors
- Selling and floors let it down
- Just bought the house
Who does the work
Our flooring crews carry liability insurance on file with us, and the installers doing hardwood and tile have done it in this region’s crawl spaces and slabs on jobs we know.
Beyond the paperwork, the test is how somebody handles the part of a flooring job that does not go to plan — the honest call when the estimate has to change, and whether you hear about it before the work or after. The flooring contractors who stay with us are the ones who have passed that test on jobs we know about.
Why we do not publish reviews yet
No testimonials on this site yet; a flooring company this new would have to borrow them, and a borrowed review is the wrong foundation for anything.
Where we work
Flooring installers based near Nashville also cover Franklin, Brentwood, Murfreesboro, Hendersonville; the range is 65 towns in 12 counties. Each of the main cities has its own page — what its houses mean for flooring, who issues the permits, which neighborhoods are inside the run.
If you want to understand the work before you speak to anyone, our flooring guide covers what drives the price, what your options are and what a badly done job looks like — written so you can judge any flooring contractor in the region, including us.
Who we are
As owner of Nashville's Flooring, Michael Blair runs the business and answers personally for what it says. Pages are written from Tennessee code, the installation documentation flooring makers publish, and the trade’s accepted practice, and updated when those change. Posts carry his name and their dates. The installers are licensed and insured, held to the commitments here, and every floor they lay is backed by Nashville's Flooring.
Three things to check with any flooring contractor, including us: its Tennessee contractor’s license, searchable on verify.tn.gov; a certificate of insurance, handed over before the job starts; and the permit office, named on your town’s city page.
